Software Engineer 2 (SE2) is an intermediate role as an API developer on our Data Delivery Team. Writing exemplary code, reviewing code from teammates, testing features, and deploying changes and underlying data are the expected day-to-day work of SE2s. An SE2 may implement features with little supervision, and collaboratively develop products with their team. They are knowledgeable about their codebase and their knowledge of both industry trends and internal systems have team-wide impact. They are proactive communicators, knowledge sharers, and documenters.Major Responsibilities:
- Writes correct and clean code with guidance; consistently follows stated best practices .
- Participates in technical design of features with guidance.
- Delivers complex features that are well-tested and free of significant bugs.
- Possesses sympathy for the user of their software and uses that sympathy to guide coding and design decisions.
- Communicates assumptions and gets clarification on tasks up front to minimize the need for rework.
- Documents their work obsessively.
Education and Experience:
- 1+ years of experience with .NET Core (or similar) development in a production environment.
- 1+ years of experience with production environments in AWS (or similar) and extensive experience with container orchestration and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform/Terragrunt.
- Working knowledge of structured databases (e.g., SQLite, PostgreSQL).
