Job Description
A Data Taxonomist at Lightcast is responsible for evaluating and improving the coverage and quality of Lightcast’s taxonomies and models. The taxonomist’s day to day work primarily consists of 1) internalizing or creating decision criteria, 2) analyzing and labeling data accordingly, and 3) making good, consistent decisions to deal with ambiguities. The Taxonomy team ensures that these taxonomies are fit-for-purpose, up-to-date and accurately reflect the complexity of the job market. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative research skills and will have a passion for seeing patterns in data, then extracting those patterns to inform the development of our taxonomies and our data products.Daily Responsibilities- Reading and labeling of natural language elements (e.g. job titles, job postings, company names, etc.)
