Departmental Overview
We are a Big Data team, which builds streaming and batching pipelines to present insights of company’s data. We are using Scala as our main language with functional libraries such as cats,tofu,fs2 and others to build our applications. We constantly research new approaches, technologies and ways to solve interesting tasks.
What Will You Do?
- Build scala \ scala spark applications, both streaming and batch, which work with different types of sources;
- Build orchestration pipelines;
- Ad-hoc queries to data (unstructured, semi-structured or structured);
- Work with Data Science team to implement their prototypes in proper way (ML, analytics and etc);
- Research new technologies related to Big Data and streaming;
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
Requirements
Key Skills Required
- Scala 1+ years of experience;
- Scala spark experience (typed datasets);
- Big data stack (Spark,Hadoop, Hive, Airflow etc) 1+ years of experience;
- Experience in troubleshooting of Spark applications;
- Experience with different kinds of sources: Kafka, RDBMS, hdfs, S3, Cassandra etc;
- Experience in designing of data pipelines;
- Understanding how databases is working;
- SQL;
- Good communication skills;
- Good analytical skills;
- Fluent English;
Nice to have
- Experience in functional programming;
- Experience in AWS stack (S3, Athena, EMR, EKS, etc);
- Python (to read Data science scripts);
- Experinese in auto-tests for spark applications.
