• • Setup and maintain distributed IT systems including computational resources, servers, storage and networks;
  • Monitor network availability, utilization and security;
  • Perform and monitor data backups and recovery;
  • Scripting with Perl, Python and BASH for automating system tasks;
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information;
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures plans for usage and disaster recovery;
  • Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery;
  • Off-hours work (evening, weekend) as required by change control procedures and priorities;
  • Oversee data center backup architecture including care and maintenance;
  • Travel to company sites as requested;

Requirements

• Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN design and implementation.
• Comprehensive hands on experience with Cisco routers, Cisco ASA and Cisco Catalyst switches;
• Proficiency and comprehensive hands-on experience with routing protocols like EIGRP, BGP and OSPF;
• Strong working knowledge of routing protocols, security and link encryption;
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Squid, Quagga, Bird and Keepalived in a Linux/Unix environment;
• Expert knowledge of Layer2 technologies and ability to clearly explain and articulate Layer2 strengths and weaknesses;
• In-depth understanding of application protocols (e.g. DNS, SSH, HTTPS, SFTP, SMTP) and their behaviors across network environments;
• Proficiency working with access control list (ACLs), TCP/IP (v4 but ideally also v6), VLANs, and Quality of service (QoS);
• Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with passionate attention to detail;
• Communication skills in English (written and spoken);
• Ability to multi-task, prioritizing multiple objectives and initiatives;
• Requires a minimum of 2-4 years related work experience;
