The Role : Head of Legal (global)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Head of Legal is accountable for the Legal and risk management operations of the Company except regulatory reporting.
OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:
Responsible for the effective and efficient legal support for business restructuring, mergers/amalgamation, acquisitions, contracts, documentation management, providing legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.

Reporting to: Executive Director, Member of the Board
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and leading corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters
- Developing and leading internal audit and corporate compliance programs
- Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities
- Maintaining proper corporate interactions with the relevant governmental bodies, legislatures and the community at large
- Advising the CEO and other senior corporate officers on a variety of issues
- Participating in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive management team
- Managing a team of corporate counsel and other members of the legal department
- Ability to analyse legal implications of various issues and advising various internal stakeholders and management on it
- Drafting and vetting of various cross-border Agreements, Contracts and other documents.
- Attending Court cases and assisting the counsel in drafting of Written Submissions amp; Petitions
- Conduct diligent research into legal issues and recommend revisions as needed across a range of legal documents and agreements
- Ensure the reliable and timely execution of the company’s day-to-day legal activities
- Anticipate and plan for all legal risks, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
- Advise the leadership team on legal matters critical to the growth of the business
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the legal department for management meetings
- Responsible for litigation, legal notices, keep records of all licenses amp; compliances and all litigation matters
- Knowledge in legal aspects relating to International Corporate Laws
Requirements
- Law degree
- English language skills, Russian as benefit
- Proven experience in leading legal function globally and supervising remote teams (preferably in Financial Services)
- Excellent knowledge of International Corporate Law
- Well-developed organizational skills, project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills which enable ahead of legal team to work effectively with all department members, and also to collaborate with external parties when needed
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Adequate experience in risk management
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
- Capacity to work in a high-growth environment with emerging structure and manage multiple internal stakeholders
